how can i control myself?

Discipline. Obviously that is easier said than done, but you have to avoid the pitfalls. When you feel like eating these high fat, high caloric foods you have to ask yourself why you are eating it in the first place. If it's hunger, then why not just eat some fruit, veggies, or something nutritious to snack on? Or are you depressed because you are at home and not with your friends.
It's fine to cheat every once in awhile. But 3 pieces of cake? Why not just one piece or half a piece?
My downfall is always sugar pop. When I am feeling down I tend to lean on this as my pick me up. And what good does it do for me? Absolutely nothing but empty calories and sugar. Same as cakes and desserts.
But in the last month, I've only drank about 30 ounces of pop altogether including diet pop. But I had to discipline myself, when I felt thirsty for pop, I drank water. If I still felt like I needed pop, I made myself some Kool-Aid (sugar free of course). If I still felt like I needed something, then I got down on the floor and did 25 pushups to discipline myself for thinking of sugar pop. It all works for me. Some people will go for a long walk rather than succumbing to their food downfalls.
You just have to find out why you are indulging in these high caloric foods. Don't starve yourself. But when you fall off the wagon, go for a long walk or work out harder the following day. You are the only person who can make the positive change in yourself. No one person, besides yourself, can make you do anything.
When you feel that urge drink some water. Eat some almonds. Eat whatever you like to eat that is healthy. If you have to eat the cake, decide immediately what is the proper portion for you. Obviously 3 pieces is not a normal portion for one person who wants to weigh less.

you must believe in yourself first then you can start step by step.
if today you eat 3 slices of cakes, tomorrow, try to eat less then that.
discipline is the first thing you need.
if you sees those sweets, try to avoid them.
you can eat but make sure in a small amount
