That is a tough one. Myself, I have to make sure I don't watch any movies with gratuitous images of violence to help control nightmares. I have found that it works. Movies like Saw, I have not seen because I know they will give me nightmares. I have a tendancy to dream about any movie that I have seen in a day, especially if I watch it close to bed time. Other than that, think about these nightmares, try to think about what you're afraid of and see if this dream is trying to tell you something. Confronting your personal fears is a good way to start trying to control nightmares, especially if you're having the same one over and over.
I love a good nightmare - like going to the movies for free. Would have them all the time if I could - guess there is no way to control what we dream.
You need to confront the fear and it will go away.
Well are you reading scary books, watching horror movies or thinking negatively before bed. Also I recommend praying before bed so GOD has forgiven you of your sins for the day and allows you a peaceful sleep.

Don't eat cheese before bed, if you have a bad dream, roll over onto your side.
