How does this world work now, is there no more such thing as honesty and control?

seriously the guys and girls seem so.......self centered they only think of themselves, for example they will date you just to get money or make someone jealous without thinking about your feelings. why does everyone only care about themselves. why can people just be honest and have control over temptation, if i had a GF i wouldnt even notice other girls, she would be my goddest but todays world is just so patheticHow does this world work now, is there no more such thing as honesty and control?

they just don't know any better would be my best guess. Everything depends upon many factors such as how they were brought up (maybe spoiled), insecurity, genetically born that way....





best thing to do is just ignore people that irritate you because they usually cannot help it that they are that way. :\
Girls like a challenge. In some ways girls are more primal. It's in their genes. If you bend over backward for her, she might not appreciate it as much as you think.
The world really has gone down hill when it comes to those aspects. It seems like divorce is more common now than spending your life with just one person. There's a lot of reasons why people are so backstabbing and selfish, it might be how they were brought up, or they can be very guarded so therefore hurt others to avoid getting hurt themselves, their environment, and a lot of times it has to do with incidents in their past.





For example, if a girl gives their heart to someone and 2 years later she found out he was cheating on her the whole time and used her, she would feel very hurt- therfore she would focus more on her feelings and not focused on how she's hurting others to get over him. She might use people for money, etc to use people the way she felt used.





In general, it's so much more common now days for people to be unfaithful, that people just worry about protecting their own hearts and not realizing how their actions affect other people. I have done a lot of horrible things to guys myself but I honestly can't explain why, only that I felt I needed to do to others what was done to me. I look back at how I treated people now and I feel awful about it. When people truly mature they realize that caring about someone as much as you care about yourself is much more worth it.
