Okay. I did not take my birth control at all this past month because my husband and I are trying for another baby (we have a 3 year old). I started taking it in September or 2007 if that makes a difference. I was due to get my period last Wednesday, but still have not gotten it. I'm not sure if i'm pregant but I don't think so. When should I be expecting to get it if I am not pregnant, or is it different for each woman. I'm just worried that something is wrong =[Stopped birth control, no period.?
You should take a pregnancy test right away - you may be pregnant. The sooner you know, the better so that you can start proper prenatal care and what not. Not to mention stop stressing about why your period is missing.
That being said...if you are not pregnant, try not to worry about your missed period. It can take a woman's body several months to regulate itself after coming off of birth control. So, while it is frustrating, it is not something to worry about. Some women go right back to normal, others take a month or two, while others take up to several months. It is fine - the only thing that sucks about it is that it will make it quite difficult to conceive when you don't even know what your cycle is up to.
If you are not pregnant, but your period does not come in a couple of months, schedule an appointment with a doctor. They may or may prescribe a medication that can help bring on your period (if they think it is appropriate in your case).
Good luck,Stopped birth control, no period.?
I stopped taking BC in May and haven't experienced a ';normal'; cycle. I hear that sometimes it takes a while for your body to go back to normal after stopping BC. I was freaking out at first because I thought I was pregnant (I went 7 weeks w/o a period, and then had a light period and 6 1/2 weeks until the next one) and because I had normal cycles right away after stopping BC to get pregnant with my first. Good luck!
I know birth control pills ALWAYS mess up my cycle...i always miss a period here and there with them...i now just use condoms.
Definately take a HPT just to be sure. Its possible if you just come off the pill that you could be pregnant if you had sex.
I came of the pill and conceived that week.
If your not pregnant i would say everythings fine and your body is just getting back to its usual routine. If you still dont get your period in a couple of months just take a trip to the doctors if your worried.
All the best with ttc x
so you were taking your pills up until this month?
This happend to me also, i stoped taking my pills and my period was almost 2 weeks late. I think its just your system trying to get back in a routine If you think there is a possibility of pregnancy....take a pregnancy test just to ease your mind. other wise, I would just wait patiently.
