Stopped birth control, no period, negative pregnancy test?

I stopped taking the pill in September in order to try to have a baby. I was supposed to have gotten my period about October 20th but it never came. It is now Nover 14th and still no period. I had very light brownish discharge for a few days around October 15th, but it was hardly there and that was it. I have taken pregnancy test but they are all negative. I really want to be pregnant, but I'm confused about what's going on. I have other symptoms, just not a positive test. I was just wondering if anyone has ever done this then turned out to be pregnant? When did your test show positive? Any stories or advice is greatly appreciated. Sometimes your body takes a while to get back to normal after being on the pill.


My doc said to wait till I had two ';normal'; cycles before trying after I got off the pill.


It could be your body adjusting to life without the pill.


If you are that late for your period, and the test is saying negative, I'm sorry to say - it probably is a negative.

For one, if you just got pregnant you could have a negative test. But with most people it can take 3 monthes to a year to be able to get on a normal period schedule and be able to conceive after stopping birth control. Good Luck!!
Depending on how long you took the pill for...it can take up to a year before your body gets back to being regular and you ovulating.





I would think that your body is trying to get back to normal and that you probably aren't pregnant yet. The symptoms you are having can be from thinking that you might be pregnant....or simply from the hormones leaving your body from the pill.





Of course....you are only a few weeks late....you could be pregnant and it's simply too early to pop a test. Since you just quit taking the pill....you really don't know when your period was due...so you could have gotten pregnant but not that late yet.





I would wait a few more days and then re-test....if it's still negative...I would go to the Dr for a blood test.

it sometimes takes a couple months to have a cycle again after you stop BC. with mine this last time i did not get a period for around 45 days. everyone is different.
Maybe that small amount of discharge was your period.... I know it's probably not normal for you, but when I came off the pill my body did weird things (I got a period after a 12 day cycle and my cycles are usually 35 days). It's always best to check with a Dr though.
