EPT Pregnancy Test, no lines in control?

Ok, so I am about 8 days late. My bf was sweet enough to go to the store and get an EPT test today. Now it says that if no line appears in the control window to get a new one and retest (which I will do if I don't start in a couple of days). So this is what happened. I peed on the stick for 5 seconds like it said to do, put the cap back on, and laid it flat. We let it sit for almost 10 minutes without any lines showing, not even in the control. I tipped it vertical so the tip was pointing up and then a negative result showed. The directions say to never tip it like this. I cannot find an answer as to whether tipping it would give false results. Anyone with similar experiences?EPT Pregnancy Test, no lines in control?

If the control line didn't show up in the amount of time the directions said it would, and you followed all the directions properly, then you can't trust the results. There is a reason they say not to tip the test. Get a new one.








p.s. I reported Terry E. for you. Why do some people seem to think that the fact that you might be pregnant means you weren't using ';protection';? Hello, no birth control is 100% effective.
I suggest getting an early pt like First Response. Then use first morning urine, and pee into something and dip it- sounds like there wasnt enough urine and NO it doesn't work if you pee on it again! :)
i say to go and get another test. it sounds faulty. plus if the test says not to tip it and you do then you can't really believe any results you get.
I would suggest getting a new test and wait until you first pee of the morning to take it. That may help! :)
if there was no line in the control box then i would say that the test was faulty and would discard the results normally with all tests the lines will appear within a few Min's


i would retest in the morning with a different more reliable test such as clear blue or first response

dont bother with the test with the lines, clear blue easy digital is as easy and accurate as youre gonna get. It says pregnant, or not pregnant
If no lines appeared in the control, take another test. The results are NOT accurate. Call the company too. They will send you another one and all you have to do is send in the bad one.
the test is defective if there is no control. don't trust the results just get a new test.
When no line appears in the control panel it means a faulty test. Just retest...tipping and coming out probably meant you didn't have enough urine on the stick..Id still get another to be sure
