What should i no about birth control?

It's not 100% effective, it just HELPS to prevent pregnancy and regulate your periods. Basically birth control pills use hormone's to prevent you from ovulating (dropping an egg to be fertilized) and when you have a ';period'; its actually withdrawals from the hormone's the pills provide, not your body discharging the unfertilized egg.

There are many different kinds, your best option is to go to your Gyno or Health Dept/Planned Parenthood and find out which one is best for you. I have tried Yasmin, Orthotrycyclin Lo, Ortho Evra and Loestrin24FE. I have been using the Loestrin24 for 2yrs now and I love it. Rather than the usual 21 active pill pack, Loestrin24 offers 24 active pills and only 4 iron pills/non active pills (not all pills have the iron supplement, most are just placebo). So your period is usually only 3-4 days rather than 5-6. I don't usually have any side-effects with taking the pill...sometimes spotting in between periods but it's not too bad.
