Massive cravings for food...in general. no self control?

ok so im 15 and i dont think i used to be liek this but ever since like last year, i ahve trouble not eating...ok well





i eat 3 meals a day..usually but like im always thinking about food, its like, i cant control myself its really hard and the more i stay away form it the harder it is to control its like a vampire trying to resist the urge to eat a human, im always thinking about iot and it has to stop because i dont want ot get fat and unhealthy!


do i have a problem? can you tell me some self control techniques?Massive cravings for food...in general. no self control?

First, you sort of answered your question, you need a hobby! Second, what are you eating? Are you getting enough protein and vitamins? If not, maybe that's why you're hungry all the time. Stay away from junk food, if you're eating veggies and fruit all the time you're prob ok. Third, are you eating to make yourself emotionally feel better? That's called filling an emotional void, if that's it then check out over eaters anonymous.
That is the problem - not enough physicaly activity.


I am 6 foot tall and had gotten to weight 260lbs because I was lazy, immobile and when there is nothing to do, you notice your stomach is not full and you eat.





Try and occupy yourself with lots of activities, physical or mental, and that should keep you away from food until the next big meal.
Look! You can resist! It's hard but it is managable. You can literally stop yourself from eating can't you? There's not some magical force which is shoving food in your mouth. Consequance of eating so much you get fat, unhealthy and die of a heart attack. Is it worth it? No! So stop eating! Have a bit of self control and stop being a pussy.
It's okay to eat more as long as what you eat is healthy. Personally I amaze my friends with how much I eat, but I balance what I eat well and I run 3-5 miles every day, and work out 3x each week.


An example of my typical meal: Burger and fries (but made with no trans-fat) orange juice, bowl of cereal, a piece of fruit, blueberry bagel, and a little of some green veggies. Maybe even a slice of cake or something if I plan on working out later that day for an energy boost.


All this, 3x a day, and I maintain 150lbs and 6'3';
Instead of 3 large meals a day try 6-7 small meals a day. Eat roughly ever 3 hours. This will keep your appetite at bay as well as help with the general craving feeling. When you get cravings for things such as sweets try hard candy instead of cakes, cookies, or sweetened dairy.
Find something that can surpass food. Maybe when you're hungry grab an apple and eat that. That's not fattening. It's not like food is fattening all together. It's fatty foods that you should worry about. So, next time you have a craving grab a bag of carrots and chomp away.

Regular exercise. Next time you get a craving take a walk around the block, wear your ipod and listen to favorite tunes.





Caffeine helps suppress appetite, too, just be careful not to abuse it, especially at your age.

I find something that i can eat that wont make me fat.


so when im hungrey i'll eat minty altoids.


or fruit or drink lots lots of water.





try eating something like fruit, or a mint or soemthing that wont get you fat.

Man i eat like 6 meals a day. If your metabolism can keep up then who cares how much you eat.





And i love how you have a frame of reference of how it feels to be a vampire ';wanting human';. Uber creepy btw.
i have the same problem, i just dont let my parents buy any food that i like, and if they do i just throw it away
why the urge? Maybe your just hungry what type of meals are you eating, make sure your getting enough from what you are eating before you think there is a problem
When I'm hungry but I don't want to eat, I just drink a lot of water. It makes you feel full so you won't want to eat.
It sounds like the start of a problem, if you can correct it now while your 15 plz do before you turn out like....well you know
this happens to me, just eat but make sure that you burn off as much calories as you consume or you will get fatt.
ummm, perhaps you should find a hobby and focus on that or get outside and ride a bike or something...

You just need to figure out what your craving so that your satisfied. Also just work out so you don't feel as guilty when you eat I used to be over weight when I was younger because I ate crappy food things with MSG for instance makes you crave more food eat healthy for a week or two munch on almonds and veggies and fruit in between meals and you can eat smaller meals if your not hungry you won't crave as much if it's more about boredom just eat lots of popsicles. I get cravings all the time I like eating things like veggies in ranch dressing or peanut butter, most people eat crap with no nutrients so they keep feeling hungry just try to eat healthier and after awhile it goes away. Think of it like someone who smokes if you keep smoking you always want more but if you distract yourself and avoid it a few weeks cravings go away. trust me on the exercise thing it gives you endorphins and keeps you healthy too.

Um, well I had an eating disorder this year. %26amp;It came with a ';symptom'; of always thinking about food. It was anorexia not over eating. But there is such a disorder as over eating. im not sure what its called. Binge eating I think...





Anyway, if you really are dedicated to only eating healthy food to keep a good body weight, Im sure you would have enough self control to.. control yourself? xD





But obviously you cant. But you still want to be healthy..





So here what I say.





WE're only young. If you feel like eating something unhealthy, eat it (unless its your 7th chocolate brownie of the day). When were older its gonna be a lot harder to burn off calories anyway. And being young, we can eat more. So yeah... Try to occupy yourself with other thoughts. Maybe start getting into writing? Poems, stories...





Or get involved in some community service? Or just go for a walk?





I still cant stop thinking about food. This disorder has scarred my brain. It may be gone but it shoved a video of food in my head and stuck it on replay. Theres none in there to get it off!

Everytime you start to wonder about ';how many calories is in that meal?'; or ';Mmm thatd be yum';, just think, do you wanna end up like me? Constantly thinking about what youre gonna eat next and what would be so utterly fattening you could hardly imagine it...





Or just draw. Draw animals, or draw whats right in front of you, or play a computer game, or do some exercise.
